San Francisco

Hey...I just graduated 3 weeks ago and passed the NCLEX a week ago and now am getting ready to move to San Francisco. I'm wondering if anyone on here has any information about new grad programs in the bay or hospitals for that matter? I'm not moving until October b/c I'm waiting for my BF to get done w/ his program and then we're going together so I have plenty of time to look on one hand but on the other...may miss some start dates b/c of my late arrival to the city. Any ideas??

I had several of my classmates get jobs at the Stanford Children's Medical Center (not sure of the actual name... it is a woman's name) in the NICU. They were offered good preceptorships, along with a relocation allowance. I also have a classmate that will be starting a program in Berkeley next month... not sure where. I think that there is also some good opportunities in the Concord area... I had a friend who checked into their new grad program... you can google for a local hospital there.

Lucile Packard is the name of the Children's Hospital at Stanford. They have an excellent reputation if you wish to work with children.

FYI Alta Bates Medical center is near Berkeley, and John Muir Medical Center is in Walnut Creek, close to Concord. Mt. Diablo Medical Center is in Concord :)

jzprple,

You might want to put your resume on monster. I did this a couple of weeks ago, and had a number of recruiters call me. I am a new grad and in the midwest like you. I also want to make a move to the SF area. PM me and I'll give you a name of a recruiter that has called me. They help with relocation, too. I interviewed with two hospitals in the area. One offered me a position pending results of the background. I have a tentative start date of October 17.

Hope this helps!
