So currently I am attending san diego state university majoring in gerontology and looking to graduate hopefully by spring 2009. After graduation, I plan on attending San Diego City college's RN program. My question is, even though I would already have a BA in gerontology(hopefully), with all the nursing pre-reqs completed also, would I still be qualified to be in the program? or would I have to retake the all the pre-reqs again? btw, I received my conditional acceptance letter during may 2007. help please!

Just because you have BA, that doesn't disqualify you from going into City College's RN program. You won't be eligible for grants, but they won't deny you admission. I am assuming that you have already put your name on the waiting list, which is GOOD. By the time you graduate, you won't have to wait much longer (if at all) to start your program. Good luck!!
Thanks so much! I was worried that they would make me take the prereqs again. Did you get into your program with a bachelors too? Thanks again!
You're very welcome! The only way they would make you take prereq's again is if you took them more than a number of years (either 5 or 7 years, I forget). When did you take your prereq's? I'm actually applying to SDSU, but I go to City College and I have never heard of anyone being turned away because they have a BA.
I took them about 2 years ago at a cc. Good luck with SDSU!
