Hello everyone! I am planning to apply to the nursing program at San Diego City College (SDCC) this year. I did not find a board for this topic, probably because it's still early in 2019, but I like what others have done for previous application periods. I am starting CNA training on the 25th with the American Red Cross. That program ends in early April so I will have plenty of time to study for and take the TEAS. Has anyone has had experience with the American Red Cross CNA program? Has anyone else applying to SDCC had their transcripts evaluated? Also, when will you do your physical for the program?

If you don't mind me asking, is there a reason you chose the Red Cross CNA program over the one offered at SDCC? Thanks!

The Red Cross gave me the option to take evening classes. The one at SDCC is during the week and I have a soon to be 10 month old at home. My husband will home in time for me to go to class. They also have a weekend option, but that starts later in the year.

Thank you for the info! I'm going to look into it. I'll be starting nursing school later this year but I want become a CNA and work for a few months beforehand and hopefully work part-time during. Currently working 8-5 in an unrelated field so I will need an evening program as well.

Sorry I don't have any answers for the questions you posted! Since you mentioned you still need to take the TEAS, I will say that I found the practice tests on the ATI site to be incredibly helpful and very close to what the real test was like. I purchased a test prep book from Mometrix and while it was helpful for content review, the practice tests were not very similar to the test.

Thank you, I will be doing the ATI tests for sure. I also want to start working as a CNA while I wait for nursing school. Good luck to you 🙂
