Hello everyone. I was just wondering what is the base pay of nurses working in the nursing home? I'm a BSN-RN with 2 years of experience in the hospital. Anyone here from Texas? Please let me know. Thanks

~$29 here in Seattle
They gave me an offer of $24 here. I bet that's too low. Thanks for letting me know tho
It really depends on location, setting.... Get the job, but keep looking for a better paying job
thanks much. Have you tried working in the LTC too?
I am actually a new grad and just got a job offer at a LTC facility. I have no medical work experience such as CNA or PCT, so I am planning to get the experience I need from this facility and land in a RN residency position in a bigger medical setting?

Wow good luck to you there in Seattle. I'm gonna start this Wednesday too. They say working in LTC is quite challenging too, as for us our ratio is 25-30.

I'm in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Nursing homes around here vary greatly in what they pay, and no extra money is offered for having a BSN degree. Pay rates can range from mid-$20s to mid-$30s depending on the company that owns the nursing home.
Hi! Thanks for the quotation. I'm in Texas too, my Nursing home is Trisun care center, I heard they're a big company but then is it pretty normal that they offer $24?
Thanks, I am really happy to start this job and looking forward to the challenge ?
I worked for Trisun in the past. I earned $21.50/hour as an LVN at one of their Fort Worth facilities in 2008, then earned $28/hourly as an RN at another one of their buildings in 2010. Expect the pay to be lower if you are not in DFW or Houston.

Not in Texas but here in Massachusetts I start new grad RNs at $25. We pay 50 cents an hour more for BSN grads. More experience of course will get you more pay. To put things in perspective....my first job as an RN in a SNF on Cape Cod...I made $8 per hour and that was the highest paying facility. When I went to work at the hospital, I was making $10.87 on 3-11. That was in the early '80s.
