I haven't had a permanent job since 2007 or 2008 and I'm finally about to start searching for jobs. Can anyone give me a little input on salary? I don't even know what I should be asking for. The last salary I can remember was about $40/hr and that included night shift differential on a Telemetry Unit in 2008. I have 8 years experience as an RN and I work Tele and M/S. The past 6 years I've been working as a Travel Nurse and Agency Nurse. I'm hoping to find a full-time position on a Tele Unit. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Cali, I started as a new grad 2 years ago and made about 32 dollars starting in the Desert area of southern california(Palm Desert). However, I got time and a half after 8 which equated to about 37 dollars an hour. I just landed a new Tele job in south bay area of LA, and am making 37.25/hr flat rate.

Probably lower to mid 40s can be expected varying on the institution. UC pay is public, you can Google it and find your step by year of experience and length of years within the system. Good place to start if you're looking in the city, it will vary greatly as you venture out.
