Thinking of moving to Denver and was wondering if anyone knows the salary there especially anything about Littleton Hospital. I have 21 years experience and I am a Labor and Delivery RNC. :loveya:

Can't help you with salary, but if you want to get together when you come, feel free to PM me for my #. When are you moving?

I am thinking of moving to Denver too : ) I am actually from there but went to highschool and college in Texas.

I don't know what the salary is in the area.. I heard starting pay for a new grad (like me) was about $25 an hour so I would hope with your experience you would get above that, haha.

My youngest sister was born at Littleton Hospital. Granted that was about 17 years ago.. but my mom said it was very nice! I've heard the same from other people, that they are known for having a good L&D dept. : ) Littleton is also a very beautiful area to live in.

This website gives average incomes of careers in specified locations. I've heard repeatedly that Denver pays low for nurses when you consider the cost of living.

When I've wanted to move to a new area and had concerns about salaries, I've called or emailed HR or unit managers to ask about salaries explaining that I'd like to move to the area but that I'd heard the salaries are low there in comparison to my current location. This approach has worked well, and I cannot think of a time when I wasn't given a ballpark figure although sometimes the nurse manager had to talk to HR first as they were not supposed to give out that information prior to interviews. I lucked out, tho, as the ballpark figure was low in my current location!

Specializes in PICU/NICU.

I just moved back out west from the Littleton area! PM me and I can give you some info on the hospitals if you want- I just came from a NICU in Lone Tree- great hospital!

As for pay, I have to say that compared to a little further west, it is much lower than I thought it would be. And really, the cost of living is not that much different.

Again, just PM me and I'll give you some info on my hourly rate and area hospitals if you want.

BTW you will LOVE Colorado!
