Hello everyone. I was wondering what the salary would be for RN's with a Masters degree in psychology in Florida. Most importantly, what would be my best route to combine these two degrees to maximize my skills and pay scale. Should I pursue another type of degree in nursing or certification more in line with my current education in psychology. I will begin nursing school in January, so this is fairly new to me. I am currently a clinical therapist and registered mental health counselor intern, so I will be a LMHC soon as well. I decided to go into nursing because I feel that it's a better fit for me. Any advice would most certainly be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but an RN with a Masters in Psychology = An RN. Non-nursing degrees do not add any value for entry-level or bedside nursing jobs because these roles are focused on providing nursing care. The only exception - Since you have some clinical practice associated with your psych degree, it may help you get a job in behavioral health.

Down the road, you might find you're interested in becoming a psych NP.
Thank you for the replies. I've been doing a bit of research and have seen several programs that I can get into once I complete my RN (RN to MSN). I will certainly look at all my options but I do believe Psych NP is definitely my best route. Again, thank you for the advice.
