Anyone accepted for the Fall 2008 semester? I just got my acceptance letter!!! Yay!!! :)
the book and lab manual are by terry martin 11th edition. the lab manual is 117 new.. the text book is used so it cost probably around 85 or less for a used textbook considering the new book is about 200 dollars.for both ill let it go for 135. the sauders book is almost as new coz i only used it for two months. its the 4th edition and it comes with the cd.. what is good about this book is that the test questions provides rationales to the answers.when i bought it it was 99 bucks but now i think its only 40 brand new so ill sell mine 25.
Hey everyone. Tomorrow's orientation!!!! Have your questions ready. Hopefully I get to see some of you that are posting here. From what I understand it's from the hours of 9am-3pm. There should be parking available. There are supposedly certain spots in the parking lot reserved as SPSON for students and staff. If there isn't one available you can park in any that doesn't have any reservations on it. Don't park across the street at the movie theater lot though....will probably get towed. Good luck to everyone.
Good luck to all those starting out this fall!
Here is something to look forward to!

This is from my hometown local newspaper and covers last June's graduating class from St. Vinny's school on Staten Island.
P.S.
Although the three schools (Staten Island, Queens, and Manhattan), all St. Vincent's grads and students wore the same cap. That is all over now, College of Mount St. Vincent has absorbed the old Manhattan progam, and IIRC they do not have a capping ceremony at graduation. Not sure about Queens.
I didnt know they were still accepting people for this fall 09..I was told that the deadline for the fall 09 was late february...I am applying for the Spring 10 evening class and I'm scheduled to take the Arnett test sep 11..any advice?? I am extremely nervous because Ive taken the nln test before and applied to the philips beth israel school and didnt get accepted and I think this is going to be my last time trying to get into a nursing program
Hi Everyone,
I am applying for the Spring 2010 evening classes, and am having trouble with my application. Apparently the temporary address I sent my application to no longer is located in Great Neck and my application came back to me. I called the school and they gave me the 30-50 whitestone expressway address and I am sending it there.
Is this where all of you applied? I'm afraid my application might come back again so maybe I'll drop it off in person. And can anyone tell me what's the best way to commute to this location?
Thank you,
This application process is driving me crazy!
Yes the Whitestone address is right. The Whitestone Expwy runs right in front of it. You would need to get off the Linden Boulevard exit. They are located right next to the College Point DMV office. It looks like a regular office building. You can take the Grand Central Pkwy, the Van Wyck Exwy, or the Cross Island Exwy to the Whitestone Exwy. Good luck.
Thanks for the info. I have sent off my application and hopefully it won't come back, and I can sit for the exam. I am very nervous about taking the entrance exam.
I got my copy of the recommended reading and am currently studying it as much as possible. Can anyone tell me how long each section is? How many hours do you sit for the exam? I have been reading to boards and everyone seems to be saying the exam is not too tough. English is not my first language and the reading comprehension in the book is quite difficult for me.
I'd really like to get into this school. I'm a Laboratory Technician and I have been looking into nursing as a career change for ages.
Are there any other pointers I should know?
Any response is very much appreciated.
Honestly I don't really remember the length of the exam....maybe 3.5 hours...not sure. Sorry. I didn't find the exam too difficult. The math was very much basic and I think as long as you can get through the study guide you should be fine. Just study the book as much as you can and you'll do fine. Good luck on the exam.
