I was going to apply this spring but decided not to because a night shift will not be good for me cause I'm a new NY resident, have an 11 mo old and a Dr hubby whose not always there. I want to apply for fall 09 but wanted to take some prereqs online through Edukan but am not sure if svcmc will accept their credits. I sent an email to #### who reply to let me know that she'll redirect my question to someone who can answer it. Still no words yet.

Anyway, I wanted to know how you manage to take the prereqs with nursing courses? Is it difficult to do? I just want to see if it is doable in case I don't get to do my prereqs online.

Hi Zip,

As long as EduKan's transcript is from an accredited college/university I don't see why it wouldn't be taken. From what I know of Edukan it is through an actual school, and your transcript should just say the class u took and the grade, not the method in which u took it.

There are people in my class who are taking alllll the prereqs along with the nursing classes and doing quite well. I'm only taking A&P with it, and I'm handling it pretty ok myself. It's all about setting your mind to something and getting it done.

Being that you do have some time until Fall 2009, you may want to get some pre reqs in. But do make sure they will take the creds first.

hi guys...

I believe all hope and faith on my acceptance to St Vincents just left and slammed the door on my face. St Vincent was the only school I really want to be into and all other schools I applied to for the Spring are all backups. Since I know now that I will not be going to St Vincents, please pray for my pending applications.

Y do u say that, did u get a rejection letter? Dont give up, u just did your interview, it takes a while, i'm still waiting for a letter also and I got interviewed last month. Never give up. :redbeathe:heartbeat:redbeathe

Thanks Ponchie. It's great to have that reassurance. There will be an Open house tomorrow at svcmc. I will try to get as much info I can get.

yes I went. I was surprised to see how many people was there. A lot of interest in this school. It went pretty well. There was students testimonials freshmen, new grad and last semester. They are all satisfied and thinks that the svcmc team really want you to succeed. A lot of good question was answered. I was also surprise to learn that they receive about 700 applications but has about 160 seats for fall and spring.

The new grad testimonial was very inspirational. She's a wife, a mother, a full time employer and a student when she came to svcmc. She received a great deal of applause from us cause she proved to us that it can be done.

The only question I regret not asking is if they have the courses description so that I can compare them to the online prereqs I want to take.

They will mail out the application to us and will start in nov for sept 09 class.

WOW, that many people applied. Hey it must be a great program. I have only heard good things about them. I am taking the exam on sat. hope things work out for me . I got accepted to Helene Fuld in the city but would rather go to svcmc. thanks for the info. All the best

160 seats and 700 applicants? That's crazy! Well I sent the $460 deposit to reserve my place during the January night semester but I don't think I'll be going if I get into BMCC's program. Honestly that test isnt very difficult at all. It just takes them a long time to respond. I took that test in July and I didn't get a call until September. Then I got the acceptance letter 3 days later. The interview went very well. I didn't know they were still holding exams. I thought the deadline was September or something. Well if I don't get into BMCC I guess SVCMC it is.

I think tomorrow is the last test date, from what they said to me. I hope they still have some seats left for us late comers. Good luck to all who are taking the exam tomorrow. Get a good nite sleep and eat a good breakfast. :bugeyes:

Hey Everyone!

I got into the Jan 2009 class, sent in my money but I still have a few questions since I am still waiting on the information packet.

1. When does class actually start? Date/Time

2. How much is tuition?

I can't wait to meet everyone!!! See you in January!:D
