Anyone accepted for the Fall 2008 semester? I just got my acceptance letter!!! Yay!!! :)
DONT STRESS IT !..IT IS WAY EASIER THAN YOU THINK... no really i think the NLN -PAX was way harder. all basic stuff and no science.HI...I applied to St.Vincent's for the Spring 09, my exam is on the 12th...Very nervous!
Any tip on the exam for those who took it already? Specially on reading comprehension...Please...pretty please
How many sections and how many questions per section? Does the math portion have advance algebra or geometry like the NLN-PAX?
I'm so stressed about the test, I cant sleep well
Any kind of tip will do...
Thanks in advance! :heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat
Thanks...No Science! Yay
One less thing to worry about...
Do you know what they meant by an "acceptable" score in th entrance exam? And do I stand less of a chance since I just applied to the program for Spring when deadline is almost up?
The passing score is a 70 from what I heard. They consider your previous GPA as well.
As long as your application was received by the deadline, there's no reason why they wouldn't consider you. I'm not sure if earlier applicants have a better shot at the limited seats. I know the school had a long recess break recently (they told me this when I called the called).
The one thing I'm not too keen about on the school is that it's hard to reach anyone in the afternoon/evening by telephone (when calling admissions).

yes i must admit when it comes to getting answers over the phone, it sux. but in there defense, the one person who's job it is to answer the phone ms Soto, leaves at 4pm or so. the rest of the admission committee who remain like ms WOLINSKI AND Bove are instructors so they in class lecturing past 4pm my experience with svcmc is if you want something it needs to be face to face
The faculty (which is also the admissions committee) is off all summer, so basically the admission process was at a standstill (other than testing). Mrs Soto cannot answer specific questions about classes and what transfers, she is not on the committee, she is a secretary. She cannot tell you whether you are accepted or not, only whether your application is complete (missing transcripts, etc).
It is a very small school that receives a huge amount of applications, with a very small admissions committee. It is a rolling admission process, which means you can be accpeted tomorrow, or you can get accpeted in Decemeber. It all depends on who else is applying and if they are a better candidate from you. There is no passing score on the exam, it's all relative. I know, it is very frustrating, and the wait is torture, but you just have to be patient.

I'm still waiting for the grade also. That's supposed to me mailed out in September (that's what they told me over the phone). Then, I believe, if the school is interested, they would call some people for interviews. Right now I'm at Adelphi's nursing program, but I may consider St. Vincent's if they take me, since their program is much shorter.
I took the exam on July 15 and i thought it was easy. I still haven't received anything from them, not even the exam score. It's been past the 3 week time frame. So from what you're saying I should receive the score in September? Is there still a chance of my getting in? I wish they'd give me some kind of response.
