older i nurse confided to as my mentor leaving unit for different job. said that i was the reason she got introuble for some things, claiming i "said things/accused her/wrote her up". devastated, as during that situation i 100% backed her up and reaffirmed that what other staff members accused her of wasnt true.

told the DON of our facility she was an amazing nurse. she never told me she was  leaving but she told everyone else who kept it a secret from me... and one person accidentally spilled the beans.

not hurt she is leaving, brighter pastures in a stressful job. hurt by all these hurtful things that are being revealed from others of all the things she's said about me when she orientated me.

like damn.

still in my feelings but ill get over it...

That's the trouble with people tattling, the person tattled on often can only guess who the tattletale was.

Most likely, someone else wrote her up and she thinks it is you. Maybe you can clarify with her? It sounds like you care about her.

I just hate gossip and drama.  Here is a perfect example of why.

Sounds like there is more to this story than meets the eye. I cannot imagine any NM/DON firing a nurse based on what an orientee stated. Some one is either lying or in denial. If it really bothers you I would just talk to her and let her know you didn't say anything. Some places are toxic with the gossip and it is just better to stay out of it and let it go. You will have to judge the situation. Either way I would not dwell on it or keep the issue going with other coworkers, it will pass with time.
