Hello, I thought I would start a thread for those applying for Sac State's BSN program from Fall 2017 since applications will be here before we know it. Curious to see the GPA's and TEAS scores for that application period.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Moved to school/programs

I'll be applying for Fall 2017! I'm kinda scared though because I'm currently borderlining an A/B in Anatomy so my GPA will be ranging from a 3.7 to 3.9 depending on what I get in the class. My first TEAS trial didn't go as well as I wanted it to be so I'll be retaking it in January and hopefully I won't need to retake it after that but if not I might try to take it in February before the application is due (not sure yet though).

Currently working my way up for the 100 hours of volunteer experience but will be having 3 out of the 4 Extra Supplemental Points.

Good luck to us all! This is my number one choice of school then comes Stanislaus. I will be applying to Sac, Stanislaus, Chico, Domincan, and maybe Chamberlain (in Sacramento).

If anyone has any advice or words of encouragement it would but highly appreciated.

I will be applying for the Fall. I will be going in with about 89 points. I have a 4.00 for the nursing prereqs and got a 91.3 on the TEAS. Hope to see you all in the Fall. Fingers crossed!

Hello

Does anyone know when does fall 2017 semester starts like before Labor day or after....

Hey everyone! I'll be applying for Fall '17 as well.

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 91.6

+3 Points

Fingers crossed!

I was a former Sac State students YEARS ago. I'm currently in the bay area and will also be applying to SJSU, CSUEB, SFSU, and USF. For those of you currently at Sac State or are living in the area, what's it like there? I've been displaced from the area for quite some time and although Sac State is my first choice, I want to ensure that my kids will be okay with the move if I get in :)

We sound like we are in a similar situation. I graduated from CSUS in 2004, and I have 3 kiddos :) How old are your kids?

Sacramento is an awesome place to raise a family. Great supportive community. I you all will like it here if you move back.

How exciting! They'll be 7 and 3 this year. How old are yours? Thank you so much for the reassurance :)

Hi Everyone,

I am starting nursing school at Sac State this semester, Spring. If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them if I can.

Hi, Congrats! What was your GPA&TEAS? Also, I was wondering...what do you expect your schedule to be like daily including studying? Since Sac States is accelerated compared to all the other NorCal Nursing programs, im really curious!

I'm in frontloading right now for the first 3 weeks. I have class Mon - Fri with the first Wed off. You shold expect to be at school from a minimum of 8am - 5pm. Some days you might start at 7 other days stay till 6pm. So, far pretty much all free time outside of sleep is studying or doing adaptive quizzes online. Things during frontloading are hectic for your clinical section labs mainly. then after wk 3 things should calm down a bit and our theory class will get busy. My schedule after front loading is class mon -fri with tue as prep at the hospital for my wed clinical. We won't have as long of hours at school. I had a 4.0 and an 87 on my teas with 6 points for other criteria. So, far the teachers and students are all really nice. The building we are in is fairly new and labs are set up like a hospital. They really encourage students to work together and study together. You will be in a section of 10 students for you clinical rotation and will have the same rotation as them for all 2 years. Lecture is with the same cohort for all 2 years. So you are going to get to know everyone really well and rely on one another.
