Does anyone know what the hourly wage is for new RN grads at Rush? I interviewed there last week but salary was never mentioned and I didn't feel comfortable asking (silly mistake). Thanks : )

I wouldn't have felt comfortable asking, either. I am graduating May '06 and will be interviewing at Rush over my winter break. Did you find out what starting pay was? Did you accept the offer, and if you did, would you recommend the facility? After researching nursing in the downtown hospitals, no place else looks as good.

A friend of mine started her nursing career as a new grad there about a year ago, and she was started off, on dayshift, at 22ish/hr. I want to say 22.60, but I'm not really sure.

How did your interview go? I am going to pop into their jobfair in March. Any tips? I am looking for FULL time 36hrs, good staffing, tuition, and CVICU or Cardiac stepdown. I also graduate in May but live in Milwaukee.
Turns out I'll be popping into the job fair in March, too. I was scheduled to interview with a new recruiter. She called me to cancel until a later date because she thought I'd been applying for Jan 2006. I also am looking for 36 hrs full time cardiac--CV or stepdown. I've had my challenges trying to navigate their HR dept. I've left messages for several recruiters with questions about their application process and stuff, but have yet to get a call back. I've heard from a few nurses who work there that it's a common problem. Good luck to you! Let's hope we both get it!

I was just offerred a position with the company a new grad starts out with 23.00 per hour on the 7south atrium unit. Which is med/surg with a focus on transplantation. I did not accept the offer because I wanted ICU which Loyola offerred and I accepted.
Goodluck in your future endeavors.
Thanks for the information! I am also looking for ICU and have a feeling the pickings are slim at Rush. I'm trying at U of C as a back-up. Congratulations on your position at Loyola!
Thanks
