Everyone knows that when you mention the "Q" word, hell breaks loose. And, we all know that there are some nurses that are just the magnet of bad things. Any stories you want to share? Any rules that should be followed?

The first thing we teach the students. Never say the Q word.
On a side note we had a doctor laugh when he saw the list of full moons for the year posted in the report room.

And tonight is a full moon with lunar eclipse. I dread what my coworkers are dealing with now.

It's a blood moon....a big deal up here in Salem MA.
NEVER say they Q word....every time someone talks about how quite it is ti's like the universe hears you and says...I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention....and a bus load of Leaf Peepers of advanced age pulls up and they all have chest pain.

I learned about the "Q" word many years ago... while it's seemingly a rather innocent, gentle word... the horror that it brings is absolutely indescribable. Whenever I'm at work, I never utter that word in any way that describes the day. It was true 17 years ago... and it's just as true today and learned of it's power from those who learned of it decades ago.
NEVER utter or even so much as think of the "Q" word...

No, no, no, never say the Q word!!! You're just asking for trouble! When I look up at the OR board and see a... ahem... smaller number of cases than we usually have, my word for that is "interesting" or "different," not the Q word. There can be 20 cases (we usually do 25-30), but if you say the Q word, they'll all have MRSA. And A-fib. Just saying.
