Rounding Heparin drip?

Curious as to what is commonplace is your workplace? I am working at a new facility and when transferring a pt on a heparin drip that was running at something like 8.987 units/kg/hr, the receiving nurse changed it to 9 units/kg/hr. Confirmed with their charge nurse that this was acceptable. Curious, I looked at previous charting and also saw that it was rounded as well (ex 7.02 to 7). I always thought you couldn't?

I guess I can kind of see the rationale here since you can't type in iv pumps to the thousandth of a decimal?
