RN program Erie Community College

Published

Just was accepted to the ADN RN program at Erie Community College Williamsville campus. I was just wanting to get some insight on past or current students from the program. I'm currently an LPN and have done so much research on the school.. . But I want to know from a student's pointof view what to expect.

Did you have a wait time? Did you have to take a lot of pre-reqs before applying? I am an LPN too and I was looking into that college.

For that particular program at Williamsville campus I applied in January. The deadline for applications for the fall was Feb 15th. I also took my HESItant entrance exam in Feb as well. I found out the day before Easter I was accepted. I had a previous degree so all of my pre reqs were done and it took me a two semesters to finish my sciences. I didn't want to have any other classes to focus on but my nursing classes. They do accept students for the day class if they only completed the first level anatomy but evenings you need anatomy 1 and 2. City campus application deadline is like Sept 15,thfor the spring 16 semester I think.

Had orientation about a week ago for the LPN to RN path at ECC. I know that I have a hard road ahead of me but I'm ready. Is it unusual to have assigned readings already? In our book list that was given, there was over 10 different books needed which was overwhelming to see. One good thing about first semester is because the group is LPNs there is no clinical.

There's no clinical for level 1 or level 2 RN courses?

If you are in the LPN track there is no clinical in level 1. There is clinical in level 2 though. I find out my clinical schedule in a couple weeks. But regular level one students do have clinical.
