(RN) Associate's Degree to Master's Degree

Associate's degree to Master's degree?

I have two option.

1. take 3 years program for Associate's degree to Master's degree from no name University.

2. take 4~ 6 years for Associate's degree to bachelor's degree then to Master's degree from UCLA

which one is better?

In my opinion and experience, the school you went to often does not matter when it comes to the job search. Everyone takes the same NCLEX in the end regardless. I would make sure the program is accredited if nothing else, but I've never been passed over for a job because I didn't go to a big name school. Good luck either way.

I thought UCLA's program for ADN to MSN was 3 years. You also need 1 year of working experience. Has it changed?

IF you are absolutely certain as to what specialty you want to enter into for a master's degree, I don't see the point in completing a BSN first, and then going onto your masters.

I was debating this decision this year myself. However, I'm not sure what type of nurse I want to be when I grow up, so the BSN made more sense. What's the point of specializing if you might change your mind?

If you have a specific plan already, just do the masters, if you don't, you might want to wait on that.
