I am looking for a program to bridge from an Assoicate degree in Nursing to a ARNP tract with using a Bachelor's degree in another field of study to complete the bridge across the BSN. I know this bridge does exist but I don't know where. I am thinking about going back to school but I am in my 50's with 28 years of Nursing experience. I don't want to go to school for years just to retire. Also ? Online ARNP program? Thanks for all your help!!

The information I have gathered for the ARNP track, I am working on my associates degree right now, is that one of my instructors is an ARNP and she stated that to obtain that status you must have your masters degree. A bachelors degree is not sufficient for an ARNP license, at least not according to here in Florida with the nursing instructor I have that is one. If you only have your Associates you will have to get your BSN, MSN then apply for it if this is the case. You are looking at a few years at least for this process. (This is the process I will be going through as well).

Try a search for "alternate entry NP" or "masters entry program in nursing (MEPN)" and see if that helps. Here is one such program:

I remember Wyoming offered a 3 year RN to FNP program. This was about 6 years ago however.

In Nashville, TN Vanderbilt University offers a program like this. I am not sure exactly how long it takes, but I know the info is on their website. Hope this helps!

There is a similar type program at University of South FL, There is also one at FGCU in Ft Myers, but I was told by the director of the program I am in that they are facing probation from FL- BON in reference to their poor licensing scores, still trying to find concrete information to back if up. What state are you in? That would make quite a difference as well.
