Riverside community college nursing program spring 2010 acceptance/denial

Published

Hey there members of allnurses. I was wondering if who or anyone that has applied to the Riverside Community College Nursing Program (Spring of 2010) have received an acceptance letter or email regarding their application status? Anybody with information please post your experience or comments. Thanks.

I just recieved last friday 12/11 an email stating that I was an alternate, and orientation is this thursday, so I am assuming that they have already sent out their acceptance/ denial letters as well....good luck!!

Most programs starting in spring would have sent out acceptance letters before now, one would think, not just this school. If they haven't, wow, talk about last minute and leaving people hanging!

please call the school to verify, this morning. best wishes.

I just have received some factual information from the nursing department of RCC. For those who do not know yet (for I just confirmed), the nursing department has sent out their acceptance/alternate notification via email. There is also an orientation scheduled for this week.

How I confirmed this information is by calling them. The other day I have sent an email to the student coordinator to check my status (I had always received a quick reply from them). But when I sent an email to confirm the fact they have sent only the accepted/alternates emails I did not get any response. So I called the department via telephone to inquire about my application's status with short mention of the sent emails. The person on the other line stumbled over their words stating "we have sent emails and some by mail... but not all the letters have not been sent yet". There I have inquired to confirm by asking "so all the accepted and the alternates got emails with an invitation to the orientation... so all the letters being sent out are all rejection letters?" the person on the other line replies with a short pause, "yes".

This information I am sharing with you is what I have retrieved per se "the horses mouth" but I advise everyone to do their own due diligence for I have yet to get my letter in the mail. I could be right though I wish to be wrong. Yes there are the letters (as like a receipt of confirmation) that the accepted/alternates may get but my common sense tells me that - if there is an orientation to occur this week, an email should have already been received.

I feel it is every students right to expediently find their status of their application regardless of what program it may be. It is an emotionally stressful time for an aspiring student and it is mentally draining for their educational future to held bound by the fate of a letter. In my opinion the department should send all statuses via email starting with the rejections first. Perhaps an online logon where you can find status and information (like checking TEAS results) would suffice. My wish is that in the future the department shows some compassion and consideration. I wish for the department to be wholly truthful, expedient, and unguarded about vital information that can greatly impact a students future.

In conclusion, I congratulate all the fellow students that have got accepted to the program and wish you the best. You are included in a venture that many work hard to be apart of. As you go through your courses, promise yourself that you are here to be a quality healthcare provider and not someone who is in it for a check. The industry needs nurses that are dedicated to their profession. Skill and dedication as a nurse can not be measured by G.P.A. or a TEAS test. There is such a term as "lazy nurse". Please don't waste the opportunity that many work hard to acquire. Please do not be a non-productive healthcare provider for you would not want that kind of quality bestowed upon your loved one nor yourself. Goodluck. Lastly, I just want to thank the individuals that have contributed to this blog. Your participation is very appreciated.

I am on alternate list. I received an email Friday at 3pm, Dec 11.

Yes, orientation is THurs, Dec 17th. I heard the ppl that got accepted got their notice earlier than the alt people. They had to hand turn their form in while alt emails had to reply by the following Monday at 4pm. Sucks. I know. I know a few ppl who did not receive anything....so I assume they got denied.

Ern- I am glad you wrote that! That is how I feel but you said it really well!

I don't even know what rank I am on in the alt list, but I have to go or I'll lose my alt spot. Not only that but I got 80pts and someone with 80pts got in before me. Hmmm.

For those who were accepted... what was the 3 science grades (A&P and Micro?)

Hi everyone. I am planning on purchasing the teas study manual. The only concern I have is which version should I purchase? I'm not sure which teas version Rcc is currently using... Please help...it is not mentioned on the website from what I can tell. Thanx

To completely clarify, I was not accepted into the RN program for Spring 2010 and I received NO written notification (email or letter) to confirm this. RCC is the college I've always attended and they really let people down. I hope in the future they will have the common courtesy to at least email those that did not make it into their program. We deserve at least that.

What were your points that you didn't get accepted?

Curious cause I'm finishing up amy 2b and micro. And I'm gonna apply in fall

I made this thread for Spring 2011, at least on page 7 people were talking about the points they had received, but look around as there was a lot of good info shared between everyone.

Good luck!
