What do you guys do? Anybody going to be new to the medical field like me, a warehouse worker?

I’m a LVN

I'm new to the field. I worked in hospitality and customer service before, but have been a stay-at-home mom for 8 years now.

Not new to the field, but I will be new to direct patient care if I get in! I got my bachelors in biology in 2013 (pretty useless if you ask me) and I’ve been a lab assistant ever since. I decided to go back to school last summer and well, here I am! ??

Career changer here. I've been working in marketing for almost five years. I hate the 9-5 grind for so little pay that I decided the nursing (maybe doctor) journey two years ago. May I regret it in the future? Possibly. Too many people I know say they absolutely hate the role of being a nurse. But that money and that schedule will absolutely beat my sorry af dead end job that I have right now.

I sometimes work 72hrs/week. It’s hell out here. Thanks for sharing. I thought I was alone

I know a couple of people who have biology degrees and are now working in the lab. Looks like all that chemistry makes it easy for you guys to get lab jobs

I guess the kids have grown. My own are 7 and 4 years. It’s a struggle, but I pray we succeed

I received a rejection letter from my safety school...... The waiting is so much worse now.

I work an office job and I dont hate it... but its not what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Dude. Graduated same here and almost all my friends thought the same about their bio degree. Unless your dead-set on becoming a doctor, there's no other path for a bio degree. None of them wanted to be a science teacher, lab tech or lord forbid a graduate student (Even that requires a stellar GPA!)

How many you are planning on quitting your current job should you get into CEP or even ADN? Do you guys gave a game plan as to how you're going to support yourselves?

I've been in severe debt before and I'm not going back.

I'm a single parent; therefore, not working isn't an option. I will step down to part time, if needed... You??

My wife will step in. She’s an RN with Parkview and also part time at some nursing facility. I supported her, and I think it’s her turn now.. lol. I plan on putting in my two weeks notice once I get selected. I am so done with this job!
