Rio Salado Science Lab courses not transferring to other Comm. Colleges?

Published

Was reading this and got shocked:

I just signed up for bio156 and chm130 which both have labs. Has anyone else taken classes at Rio and not been able to transfer their lab credits?

I was under the impression that because Rio is under the umbrella of Maricopa Community Colleges, that everything should be transferrable?

It should be okay within the Maricopa Community Colleges, but you should check with the school. I am taking classes thru Rio so they better transfer to PV or Gateway, or whatever school I get accepted into. That's how I understood it to work.

Regarding the link- I think they were perhaps out of state?

Hopefully so, I'm planning on Rio -> local maricopa comm. college -> ASU. I'll have to double check when advisement offices re-open on wednesday..

I don't want you to stress! Just so you know all of Rio Salado College's science courses including labs transfer within the 10 Maricopa community colleges. There have been some issues with colleges out-of-state that do not accept any online science courses but that is very rare.
