Rhode Island Hospital ED

  1. Does anyone work here? Any pros/cons? I'm interviewing for an ED position with a year of tele experience at another Lifespan affiliate. I'm dying for a change of pace and think the ED would provide a challenge for me, as well as excellent experience. Thanks!

Hi! I currently work in the Hasbro ED (pediatric section of RIH). I am new to the department and am really enjoying it. The staff was very welcoming and more friendly than I have witnessed at other facilities. Starting in the ED can be daunting because there is so much to learn and it is an entirely different atmosphere than the floor, but the training is very helpful and you gain confidence each day. Particularly because you have tele experience, I think you are a valuable candidate and should go for it if you have a passion for emergency nursing! Good luck.
