So I'm knee deep in my nursing program at NHCC and realized that my CNA license expires this July. Does anyone know of a place where I can work the minimum 8 hours to keep my license? I don't work as a CNA currently so I'm looking for someplace where I can just work that one full day to keep my license.

Is keeping your CNA license active required for your program? If not, then I don't see a reason to keep it active unless you are looking to work as a CNA while attending school. If it is required, I don't think there's any place that would hire you on for just one day. They have to do a background check, contact your references, and there's a lot of human resources paperwork to be completed. It wouldn't be worth the time of the place of employment to hire you for one day. What about finding a position that would allow you to be on casual call?

Offer the employer more than one day availability and you might find a place that will work with you down the line, for that RN job as well as a better CNA schedule. Knew of a nurse who had a full time admin type job that worked only one day a month to keep up her skills. She probably started out with providing more than one day/month availability and worked her way into the one day a month gig.
