I'm transitioning from women's health nursing into pedi psych next month. Super excited about the opportunity, also have so much to learn! Are there any books/apps/podacsts/sites you'd particularly recommend for pedi psych? Thanks in advance!

Hi, welcome to children’s psych! I like the Carlat psychiatry podcast, they also have some resources for children’s meds, but these are more specific for prescribers. Unfortunately most meds are used off label for children and you will learn as you go. I really like this list of meds from NAMI https://namiccns.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Meds-List-Preston-2017.pdf

I recommend writing down meds you don’t know to look up and paying attention to diagnoses. Have fun! And interact with the kids as much as you can.

That meds reference is super helpful. Just found the Carlat podcast on Spotify, and it looks great, too. Thank you!!
