I am currently working weekend option nights and have been thinking of joining the Army reserves, I have active duty prior service as an enlisted soldier.

Our work schedules are made every 6 weeks and we are required to work 5 out of 6 weekends to keep our shift incentives for weekend option. Even if I used my one available weekend off for my drill weekends there would be a few schedules every year where I'd need to take two weekends off for drill. Do the laws protecting reserves/guard apply to shift incentives? Can my employer remove me from weekend option because of my reserve obligations?

There's USERRA, but if they want to get rid of you - they will.
