Hi, all!
I'm doing a paper on nursing leaders and chose Margaret Sanger. I've been able to find some great background info on her and the creation of PP. However, I'm not finding anything in the journals regarding how she impacted the nursing profession (other than denouncing it at one point).
If anyone has any links to articles, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance,
Mandy

I just looked on ebsco and lexis nexis and they had a lot of articles on that. I don't know if your school offers those search engines for you but my school offers them to use for free.

I Googled and found the information you're looking for.
Thanks! my school doesn't offer those databases, but a little questioning revealed that my husband has access at work. He's going to let me use his account!
This should really help--I also tried Google Scholar today and found a few other things.
Thanks again :)

The only problem is that she wasn't a nurse.
I'm a little confused...all of the literature, including her papers, make mention of her work as a visiting nurse before she began her birth control crusade.
Is it that she didn't treat the patients at her clinic, but left that to her sister?
Please advise!
Huh. you're right. I always thought she was a social worker.
Be prepared for a lot of backlash. I think she was wonderful but she did align herself with Mencken and the eugenics movement of the time.
Yeah, I've come across a couple of articles regarding her relationship with eugenics...scary stuff. I seems, in my reading, that she was just a true pragmatist and signed up to ride whatever social wave would move her agenda on the farthest.
Definitely a case for ends justifying the means, perhaps?
We'll see what else I can dig up on her!
Thanks,
M
