Requirements of nurses hired abroad???

hi everyone, i am looking for the requirements of nurses in applying for other countries. I don't know where exactly to find it. Do you have any website or info of what is required on every country? Like singapore, australia, canada, UK. I want to be aware of the requirements especially the work experienced required and the test to be taken for the future application to this countries. I know,many are eager to know this also. Pls indicate what country and the requirements. Thank you.

So I don't know about all the areas you were asking about. It depends on where you are from. I'm a Canadian RN and I was looking into working in the UK. You are required to take an english proficiency test (even though I went to an english speaking school and its my first and almost only language) which costs about $300 up here. Its nothing too scary from what i can tell. Then you need to take a 6 week course over there about nursing in the UK. I can't remember the exact details about that though. Then you're good to go. The only thing is if you are a maternity nurse you actually have to have a midewife cert to be able to work labor room or postpartum. I also have heard that they don't treat nurses very well there. but that's just from one co-worker who worked in the UK for a while. I was thinking about travel nursing there for a while.

I'm not sure about Canada but we're able to come to the US to nurse as long as we get a visa screen and pass the N-CLEX so I think it'd be simmilar up here. You'd have to write our test (nothing compared to the N-CLEX) and get a work visa!

Depends on which country you are from for a start. Also depends on whcih country you are looking at, some will require that you sit their nursing exam whilst others will accept that you already have a license (must have a local license) Each country will have their own requirements also for immigration which has nothing to do with licensure.

Generally can be hard to get a job in the UK as preference is given to the UK citizen then EU before rest of the world and many hospitals have financial difficulties and use agencies less and less. We have numerous threads on requirements for other countries you just need to use the search facility and keywords to pull them up.

Each of those countries that are listed has a requirement of the IELTS exam before they will consider you for licensure. And also requirements of a local license as well as experience.

Much has been written on all of those countries here, you just need to do a search. It would also be much easier to give you information if we knew your country of birth and where you trained.

if your planing for canada, you must register first on there respective region. for singapore you must have 2 years experinced, so you better check on each respective countries.
