requirements for the NCLEX-RN in california

Published

Hi everyone.

I took the NCLEX-RN here in California on July 28th, Wednesday. I'm getting really anxious about not getting my result yet when 2 of the people I took the test with got their on Friday morning. I'm starting to think that I might not have turned in all of the requirements, so they might be withholding my result. I'm thinking that it's because I didn't turn in a transcript from the community college where I took my pre-requisites. I only turned in my university transcript which technically has all of my pre-requisites and general education courses included. Did I still need to send in my transcript from the community college?

I know it's only been a week, but this wait is nerve-wrecking. I did the PearsonVue trick and got the good pop-up, but since two of my friends already got their results, I'm starting to think that this might be the first time the PVT won't be accurate. Well, I know I'm just being pessimistic and I'm just assuming the worst...

So again, did I still need my community college transcript?

Thanks.

BRN will not release your results until your file is complete. They also state results can take anything from 3 days to 4 weeks to be posted. You could always contact the BRN and check your file is complete

Your file must be complete before the Board will release a license. If you have any questions about the status of your file or license you need to direct your inquiry to the Board.

Hi. I think I'm having the exact same problem. I received a checklist from the BRN (a long time ago) in the mail stating "Transcripts from My University does not reflect completion from the following course(s): General Psychology, Sociology, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Written and Oral Communications." After I got that letter, I received my ATT so I thought my application was complete.

These were are all pre-requisite courses for me so the only transcripts my nursing school sent were the classes I took directly from their program. The thing is, I asked some other classmates if they had to do this and they said that they didn't.

I also took NCLEX on Wednesday, July 28 and got the "good pop-up", but still no word from the BRN. Just to facilitate things, I've ordered my transcripts for those classes, but will contact the BRN by phone tomorrow. I will let you know if they can answer whether or not that's what's holding back our results.

I took my exam on Aug. 31 in CA and did the pearson trick the next day and got the "good pop up." Well it's been a week today and my name still hasn't popped up on the BRN. Needless to say I've been a nervous wreck all week so today I decided to call the BRN and I was told my results are on hold because they do not have my transcripts. I could not believe what I heard!!! About 80% of my class already have their licenses and yet my transcripts are no where to be found. I contacted the Dean at my school and she told me all our transcripts were sent in one envelope to the BRN and a roster with all our names. So I called the BRN again to find out how was I able to take the NCLEX if they did not have my transcripts on file? I was told they got my name off the roster. Now I'm really upset because my life is put on hold until they find my transcripts or my school has to send it again. I'm trying to be hopeful because I did get the "good pop up." But would this trick be accurate in my case? Has this ever happened to anyone???

TL2008,

As far as I know, it's been accurate. I had to wait a week too because my school sent in my transcript late. One of my friends had to wait for a week too just because she had to.

I wouldn't lose hope. The PVT has worked on everyone I know who's tried it so far. :)

The BRN found my transcripts but gave me some lame ass excuse that it was "overlooked." Anyways yes PVT works! I PASSED!!!!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::nurse::nurse::nurse::nurse:
