Hello,

I am looking into a remote RN oncology case management position. I am wondering if anyone does this and what their opinion is—specifically, if performance is measured on how many calls you make, how do you manage to still feel authentic and have quality calls? How do you handle criticism regarding your calls?

I worked for one of the big insurance companies and at one time they were always looking for oncology nurses to work from home. You would telephonically manage a caseload and check chemo regimens for medical necessity. You would contact pts every 1-3 mo depending on acuity. There was productivity goals for quality scores and billing hours. You billed hours for talking to pts, writing monthly report updates, research, etc.
