Hello all!
I am currently in a RN progam here in NY. I will graduate in May 2006. My family and I are relocating to Florida. Is it best to take the boards in NY or FL? Can I take the boards in FL if I graduated in NY? Do I need to work a certain amount of time (ie. 30 days in NY, if I take the boards here, before relocating? Please help! I love Florida--I got my Bachelors there at UCF. Hard to find information on their state website. Thanks in advance for all of your help. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You jsut have to apply to where ever you will be working for licensure............once they approve your credentials they will send you a letter saying that you have met all of the requirements except for the passing of the exam. Once you have received this letter, you submit your payment to Pearson-Vue at http://www.pearsonvue.com for $200 and they will send you your ATT letter once that have permission from the BON to do so. You wil then have 90 days to take the exam.............it can even be taken in Hawaii if you want a vacation before beginning work...........You can get a license in NY and then endorse without ever having worked there, it is your choice and what you feel the most comfortable with........... :)

Thanks for the info.
Is one state better than another to get your license in?
Thanks for the info. Is one state better than another to get your license in?
Makes no difference other than the fees that you need to pay. You need to have a licnese in what ever state that you will be practicing in.........if you are going to be working in Florida and not NY, then save yourself the money. That is your choice............
