Hello There,
I'm a nursing student in Michigan looking to relocate to the Nashville area. I've obtained info about Nashville and it's surronding cities from the internet. I'm engaged with a 3 year old daughter, so obviously looking for a family oriented neighborhood. I'm also curious about wages for new grads and RN's in the Nashville area. Any info given is very much appreciated.

I am not sure about nashville. Try www.tennessean.com you can look at the classifieds online, that may be a good start.
I am a student in chattanooga, I have a acquaintance that's a new grad RN, she says she makes 18.00 per hour at a hospital here, however, I am not sure how accurate that was. Good luck to you.

Not sure about the nursing jobs in that area but more a concern would be what kind of work does your spouse to be do. Most hospitals in a given area generally pay new grads about the same. One might get more from a particular place based if they were a aid, tech or Paramedic prior to them getting their RN. Now as far as where you are currently at I knew several nurses that would drive an hour of so to work as the pay difference was as much are $5-6 hr more.
Based on the other posters comment of $18 hr i know nurses at UofM are starting at around $22hr.
With gas prices as they are a buck or two isnt going to make that much difference if hubby is burning it up driving to and from work.
