Hi,

I'm about to have an interview annd I was wondering what would be considered realistic pay requirements. I jave been an RN for 6 yrs.

What kind of questions do they ask on a video? It's gonna be my first time doing thing.

Thanks everyone

I am replying to this thread late, so perhaps you have already been interviewed for the aforementioned position. I just wanted to mention that a 'realistic' pay rate depends heavily on location, so we'd have no way of providing you with a ballpark figure unless we know where you are.

For instance, a rehabilitation nurse in Arkansas with six years of experience will probably be offered a wage that is in the mid $20s per hour ($24 to $26), whereas the same type of nurse with the same kind of experience might be offered in the $50s hourly in California's Bay area.

As you can see, nursing pay varies wildly from one geographic region to the next. Of course, some of it is due to differences in the cost of living.

Hi,

The employer is still in the pre-selection of the process so I haven't been interviewed yet. So thank you for replying.

I will get back here with more information if I am selected for the next step, since they haven't asked about wages in the digital interview.

In my research I have found that it is not advised to give any expectations whatsoever as if money didn't really matter, but I am not sure that it would be realistic nor honest.

What do you think?

Thanks again

In my experience, the interviewer will announce the rate that they intend to pay you during the interview if they end up extending an offer. This does not always happen, but keep reading to find out how you can tactfully ask about pay.

At the end of the interview you'll typically be asked, "Do you have any questions for us?" This is the time to ask about pay, benefits, nurse/patient ratios, continuing educational opportunities, etc.

Well being from Europe, our health system doesn't work the same, so I have no clue as far as what would br considered good benefits.

But I will definitely search around. I guess once I found out where the job would be located, it'll be easier for me to prepare the interview more thoroughly .

I will definitely get back to you.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I got an offer of $29/hour in NJ? Is that decent enough?

Thanks for your input

A pay rate of $29/hourly sounds a little low for NJ, especially with six years of experience, but I would still take it. NJ is becoming an increasingly difficult state to find nursing jobs.
