What if I don't get accepted?

I'm in the process of applying to an accelerated RN-BSN online program. It's looking like I'm going to have to take Art Appreciation, Western Civilizations, British Literature, and some Nursing Clinical Therapeutics class before even applying to the nursing program. I've already applied to the school, just waiting on acceptance. I also read that if you have failed in a previous program, you cannot be accepted to this program. Way back in the day I failed an RN program, but since then have gotten my license somewhere else. I wonder if they won't accept me? Then what?

I would ask someone at the school before applying. If they won't accept you because you had failed a previous program, you should find out before you start the process. I would hope they'd give you a second chance since you did succeed on your second attempt.

There are many options for RN-BSN, some brick-and-mortar, some online. It sounds a little strange to me that this program is requiring that you take all these classes before you're actually admitted to the nursing program. The programs with which I am familiar admit nurses to the RN-BSN track and have them take the non-nursing coursework concurrently with junior and senior level nursing classes. I think I would investigate a few other schools before you commit.

And if you do end up at this school before you find out if you can do the nursing program, make sure the credits will transfer to a different program. That way, if you aren't accepted, you haven't wasted any time or money.

Good luck to you in this!
