I just found this board!!! Can't believe it, still in shock, but I got in!!! I really didn't expect to get in and I met so many people here in Denver who applied and would be great nurses, including someone who treated my daughter in the ER. I would've been a nurse no matter what, but I am so glad I can stay in Colorado and not move out east for school. If anyone needs help finding a place to stay near campus or further away that is family friendly, don't hesitate to ask. I've lived in Denver for 2 years and I have two kids of my own. Can't wait to meet everyone. For those wanting to know the stats of admits (I know I did while applying) here are mine. 3.4 overall GPA. 3.8 post-bachelorette GPA. I am a volunteer at Skyridge Hospital in Lone Tree CO in the ER. I am a veteran's wife and I had a kick a@@ essay. My first two years of college were my poorest, but after that I got above a 3.5 GPA consistently. My first degree was information systems. Hope this helps. Also I volunteer a lot in the community outside of the healthcare field. AHH, I'm so happy, this acceptance is totally unexpected for me. I was literally 6 months away from moving to Philadelphia and going to school out there.

Hello everyone! Definitely still in shock, but am so thrilled that I got in! For those asking, my overall GPA was 3.8 and my prereq GPA was 4.0; I've worked at a hospital for the past 6 years and I spent a lot of time writing and editing my essay. I will be relocating from California and am curious if any others are moving as well? So excited to meet many of you and get this year started!

Glad to hear someone else with kids will be going through the program. I have two, 4 and 6, and it will an interesting challenge for all of us! Congrats to you both! I too was applying to Chicago schools (where I'm from before moving to Longmont 4 yrs ago), and totally preparing to move back. Whew! I'm glad the decisions are made and we can start planning the rest of the year out.

For those who didn't make it this year, keep trying and I think volunteering at the hospital and going through a CNA course was a huge advantage in my application.

I'm an alternate and dying to get a spot. Anyone know how many alternates there are and how many typically get in? Fingers Crossed! I got into another program but Regis is my first choice!

I don't know how many alternates there are, but I remember the folks at Regis talking about a simple ranking of applicants where they just take the top 80 or so, then a few after that number are alternates, so the #81 would be next, #82, so on...

I'm sure there will be people who don't attend, but you would have to ask Regis to know what the numbers were this year. Best of luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hello! I just found this website and am loving it! I also got accepted to start Regis in January! I'm still waiting to hear back from CU. I am having a hard time making a decision about where I would like to attend if I am fortunate enough to be accepted into both programs. Does anyone have any insight? Besides the price difference (and I'm trying not to let money play a role in my decision as I know I can find a way to get loans to cover what I'll need), the programs seem pretty comparable to me. Has anyone heard differently?

CU is a 17 month program vs Regis 12 month, so Regis is going to be a little bit more stressful since you won't have the extra time. I believe you get breaks with CU. Both are comparable, I think it's a personal decision of what you have going on in your life. I like the shorter program at Regis. But I also didn't get into CU to make that decision. There's another forum for people in your boat. https://allnurses.com/colorado-state-nursing/cu-versus-regis-508738.html . Also I'm not sure how important school ranking is but CU is ranked #15 Best Nursing Programs | Top Nursing Schools | US News Best Graduate Schools . Just to give some perspective. And congrats!! And Good luck!

A question for those of you accepted, did you get an academic calendar for the ABSN program with your acceptance letter or any additional info in that regard? Per my previous post, I am on the alternate list and since they seem to really stress that alternates can be accepted the week before classes start in January, I'd love to have the accelerated calendar.

No. The only thing we received was a letter of acceptance. I emailed the office to ask for a calender, and was told we would see something soon. I will post if I hear anything on when it will be available. By the way, have you taken ethics yet? We got an email about registering for a session, either Aug-Oct or Oct-Dec.

Best of luck on getting in. I can only imagine how stressed out you must be planning for something without notice!
