Hello all. I used to work at Redlands Community Hospital about 3 years ago as a CNA on the med/surg/peds unit. I have a question for any nurses who work there about a practice I found unethical. The hospital policy was that if any employee was more than 2 MINUTES late, that person had to automatically float to another unit as a consequence for tardiness(nevermind how understaffed the unit regularly was). Although this never happened to me personally, I was frequently the only CNA on a floor of 34 patients due to someone floating to another unit. This punitive, unprofessional, and dangerous policy was enforced not only to CNA's, but also to RN's, Ward Clerks, LVN's, and Monitor Tech's. Does this still exist?:angryfire:nono:
