I take the TEAS V on August 25, 2012 and I need to get 60% to be admitted. I read all the forums and searched online and I'm still confused. I checked the ATI website and the book with the practice A and B test questions. I can't afford this right now. I'm really interested in getting the SECRETS OF TEAS V STUDY GUIDE on PDF. Did anyone here use this? What combination study guides do you suggest in conjunction with this material? What advice do you have?

If you can't afford the ATI book with the practice A and B test questions, try to see if you can afford the book only. There are practice tests in the book too. The online practice tests are just extras. I didn't find them helpful and thought the questions in the book were tougher. Shop around. You might be able to find the book used at a more affordable price on amazon or another online retailer.

Absolutely get the ATI study guide! The practice assessments online are not that helpful. Just gives you an idea of how the TEAS is given. I scored much higher on the TEAS than on the practice assessments. But the book was so helpful!!! I went from a 65.4% to a 80.7% on my TEAS and the difference was I used the study guide the second time around!
Good luck to you!

The books that helped me are "McGraw-Hills 5 TEAS Practice Tests", "All the Math you will Ever Need" and "Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exams". This was in addition to the official TEAS study guide.
The test that I took in December of 11 was a lot harder than the official study guide so I am quite glad that I studied several other guides that were on a higher difficulty level.
I studied for the TEAS for 9 months and took 13 practice tests. I just did every practice test I could get my hands on and learned as much about the TEAS test as I could and I tested into the top 1% of the program and the top 2% of the nation. Standardized tests only show how much prep-work you put in to getting ready for the test.
If you don't spent at least 6 months of serious prep work getting ready for the TEAS it is going to shock you on test day. Don't be shocked. Be ready.

When I got my (official ATI) TEAS V Study Manual, I found the best price was at the 'local' Barnes & Noble bookstore (an hour's drive). This might not be the case today, or where you are.
I'd say it was worthwhile. After getting the results, it was clear that more time with the Study Manual probably would have been helpful.

I am also looking for a good study guide to study didn't know if it was worth getting the ATI one or the McGraw hill 5 teas I got it on my nook for Like 8.00 should I get the ATI as well
The ATI study guide is what I have to thank for my 20% increase from my first test to the second test.
I would get it, EVERYTHING you need to know is in the book. It actually says in the beginning of the book that there are 180 different subjects YOU CAN be asked on TEAS V and each and every subject is touched upon in that book. Now I also had other resources to dig deeper. For example, I had a paramedic friend go over more chemistry with me because I had a hard time with it. I checked out a biology book from the library to study more on plant science and life science. And also got a reading comprehension book from the library to do a few questions just to practice.
But the without the ATI book, I would not have gone from a 65.4% or an 80.7%.
Good luck.

I used the ATI book and my first score was short of. 7 percent of passing. The book helps but also work on your timing with the test. I wasn't ready for that part lol
Absolutely! I rushed through my first exam, and used up the whole time the second time. But I have seen a lot of people say they ran out of time. So in that case- do all the questions you know FIRST and go back to do the questions you don't because then you will have points for the right ones at least.
