I just moved to Santa Cruz County from LA.

I have 6 months experience as a DOU nurse while working full-time. I was also doing Home health.

I went to a job fair in San Jose and, being straight forward, I was rejected because I did not have one year of experience.

?Is it challenging to find a job here? Which hospitals could potentially hire me?

To add, although it isn't acute care, I also have an extensive CNA history.

Specializes in Hematology/Oncology.

It wont be easy. you should have waited a year, but my friends have jobs.

The job market in NorCal, especially the Bay Area, is really tough, especially for new grads. Take what you can get, even if it's not in a hospital. Apply, apply, apply to all of the hospitals, but also check out other resources like Craigslist. I got my first 3 jobs from CL, which helped me land my full time clinic position, which helped me land my hospital job on my dream unit.
