3rd Quater LPN students...Share your clinical exp.!!

I just kind of wanted to hear about how everyone else's clinical's are going...I am in my 3rd quater and am doing mostly clinicals...I love it so much more than just sitting in a classroom for 7 hours a day..anyway, a little about me....

My name is Kylie, I am 22 (almost 23), I have no kids (thank god, couldnt do it w/kids right now), i work 3-4 days a week and go to school, and I am about to buy my first home next month (waiting for paperwork to go through)....

I started clinicals a month ago and so far I love it, I just completed my Med-Surg rotation, it wasn't very fast paced, but I did get to spend a day in the OR and it was sooo amazing. My next rotation is OB and it starts this week, I think that will be fun...I havn't done very much except pass meds, vitals, blood sugars, charting, helping out the RNs...I am hoping my hands on exp. will grow and I will get to do more...but so far I love clinicals, it really puts all your learning into perspective!!

I would love to hear about everybody else's exp. so please share....on CONGRATS on making it this far!!!:yeah:

Hi! I'm ashley, 19 years old. Started LPN school in Sept. Started clinicals first week of october. Right now we are just going Mondays since we just started and are giving basic AM care. Monday that just passed I got to do a dressing change and empty a folly bag! We work alone so it is overwhelming sometimes but I love it. We start 4 days a week with rotations of pedi, med/surg, etc in Jan, I can't wait!

I did alot of pain assessment, loved my OB rotation. Did newborn assessment witnessed 2 vag births. Got slimed! Loved the OR, got to do alot of the cirrulating nurse stuff. Hung fluids and squeezed blood into a trauma patient! LOVED OR! Med-surg was alot of tech stuff, dc foley, gave po meds, blood sugars, a few blood draws, a few IV starts, wound care, dressing changes,theraputic communication. Graduation is in 3 weeks!

OMG!!! OR I WISH I WAS THERE AZMOM02!! OK Breathing my turn I'm Crystal I just started Med-Surg. I am working and going to school I LOVE my JOB as a CENA eye twiched.. no really I do because I get alot of practice with pts and the LPNS and some RN's are nice to help with my homework. I have done blood sugars and 2 wound care pts.. I can't wait to become a NURSE!!

Heyyy girls!! That is soo great I cannot even wait I am in a 20 month program because I need to wrk ft and I loveee it !! Congrats on makin it this far :) I hope I do toooo :/ I am soooo worried about Med surg and Math math is my weakness and med surg i hear horror storiess !!! How were those classes for you all !>?
