what is the "Nursing Practice Act"? I am preparing for a test

The nursing practice act is a legal document prepared by the boards of each state outlining what a nurse at a given level can legally do. RN and LPN are listed separately. An institutions policy can be more restricted than the states Nursing Practice Act, but it can not go over or above what the state allows.
