said a second grader to me a few minutes ago This kid is very anxious, very dramatic. I spent a long time talking him off the ledge and he kept repeating this over and over. C/O nausea, stomach ache, his typical stuff. I finally called mom b/c he was refusing to leave my office and was hysterical. Mom talked to him for 5 minutes and in the end she caved and is coming to get him Of course, now that he knows he is going home he is miraculously cured. I told mom this is an unexcused early dismissal.

... and mom doesn't care. This is why we are where we are.

DRAMA QUEENS!!! My school is full of them, and start out so young too, like in K!! Parents just give in! Crazy!

I feel bad for the parent. She just upped the ante. Kid's going to have to produce that level of drama and then go over to get more attention....

This is what creates a hypochondriac. America, as a whole, needs a kick in the backside. Instead, we are raising a generation of neurotic weaklings.

They do start in K! I find it incredible that I can talk with a parent, explain that their LD is FINE but refusing to leave my office and they still choose to believe their little one over me time and time again.
