"C" good enough??

Published

Hey there everyone! This may seem like a silly question but here goes. I've applied for several adn programs for the spring semester and was just wondering if they even consider applicants that have a "C" in a pre-req. In a&p 1 I recieved an a in the lecture and b in the lab. Then a&p2 recieved a b in lecture and c in lab. Are C's even considered with so many other applicants? I'm so nervous!:o

Although some programs prefer higher grades, but you just never know your chances until you apply. Most schools look at other areas beside grades, so if you have voluntered and worked with patients that may carry alot of weight. You did well in A&P 1, so they may look at how many classes you took at the same time or if you are working fulltime. Good luck to you. I hope you get into a program.

I know in my school a "C" is the minium grade that you can have in a pre-req course but she is right they might look at the load that you were carrying during that semester. GOOD LUCK! What schools did you apply to? I have been waiting since spring 06 for the deadline to be up for turning in applications, which was Oct 1, and now I am waiting to see if I get in, between Oct 31 and mid Nov, seems like FOREVER. But again good luck.

Thanks yall! I applied to Hinds (which there is said to be almost a year waiting list :o ), Meridian, Jones, and Holmes. I got a letter from Meridian today giving me dates for the orientation which is going to include a short math thest. They included a pre-test which is ALL fractions. Yikes! This is so nerve racking. Anyways- thank you for the replies!!

If you are looking at a year waiting - look at a BSN program! You may be able to go ahead and finish up the prereq's for that. (USM, MC, Alcorn, Ole Miss, The W I think) all have BSN programs. Also Alcorn has an Associate degree nursing -RN.

Good Luck

It depends on what kind of school you apply to. You probably not get in the school I am attending (BSN) because they go by rank and it is all competitive now. But if you went to a school that did lotto then you would be find because all they are is if you passed with a C or higher.

Most schools state in the admissions criteria that a "C" or above will be accepted, Hinds is very competitive though. I've been going there for the last 3 semesters, I've finished my pre-req's and just took my ACTs. I'm considering the Holmes night and weekend option, but the earliest I'd be able to start is the Spring of 2008. Seems like a long wait, but I'll just continue to work on my pre-req's for the BSN.

Hope you get in:wink2:
