Hello! This is my first post. So far I have just been browsing the site for a few years. I'm 28 married with one child (2 1/2 years old) and I'm thinking about going to LPN school. I currently work in the health insurance industry, full-time, 9-5. No college degree, I sort of worked my way up in the industry. The problem is I absolutely hate desk work, it's becoming draining. I have switched departments, and jobs, to see if I would feel and different. Nope. I have worked in registration at an ED and I loved it. However the hours didn't fit at the time, so I had to resign there too. A grant is available that I qualify for in my city, that will help with the cost of LPN school, which has been my dream. I make a fair salary (17/p hr) and would have to drop that to go back to school, and lean on my husband and family for support. Which I have been encouraged to do...I am just really on the fence. I see a lot of people on here speaking about the problems in nursing, which are the same ones I have experienced in corporate. Also This is a giant leap of faith for me, but I love people of all kinds, I loathe staring at my computer screen all day. Advice please? ?
