Quick ??? About Good Stethoscope

Published

Hello Hello. I am starting nursing school in the fall and im trying to buy all my stuff early so I don't need to deal with it later. I already bought all my books from the book list... So... now i want to order a stethoscope online and I want your guys opinions on a good one that you like. Is there a certain one that MCCD nursing programs recommend..? I really just need a good.. maybe cheaper beginner one. any help would be really appreciated!!!!

I have a Littman and I love it. You just really need to "test" them out before you buy them and see what you can hear best out of for you.

A Littman Lightweight will set you back $50.00 at Smartscrubs at AZMills. The people in my cohort who cannot understand lung sounds usually have a crap stethoscope. Pay the $50.00

I agree with Stopnik. You can save a few pennies here and there, but this is one place you should go for the better quality and spend the bucks. I have heard that allheart.com has the Littman lightweight for less than in the stores. I have the Littman and love it. Had a crappy one I bought at the uniform store and couldn't hear a thing.

Kudos to you being ahead of the game and getting everything in order before school starts. Good luck.

Allheart.com has stethoscopes at a great price. I'm starting school in August also. I bought a Littman Classic II SE for $60.99 and it arrived within a week with my name on it. They have the Littman Leightweight stethoscopes on sale for 37.99. They have several other brands/types of stethoscopes as well. I went to the uniform store and tried a few stethoscopes and then tried to shop around for the best deal. Anyway, good luck with school and finding your stethoscope.

Definitely Littman. I actually have a Master Cardio (present from hubby) but I had an instructor who said if your going to invest, invest in the best and it sure came in handy when first trying to distinguish the difference in lung sounds. I often have others in clinicals who ask if they can use it.

Best of luck to you
