I will be interviewing with Wyoming Medical Center in Casper in the next week and a half! Any feedback on the Center, is it a good place for a New Grad....a "mature" (as opposed to an "older" New Grad :chuckle )? How do the nurses like working there? How is the pay, benefits, etc? I will be moving from out of state, so I would also like feedback about the town and people. Looking for a community to plant my roots!!!!!!! Thank you for any information!

I've heard good reports from a couple coworkers who previously worked there. i heard they have a tough interview process where you are 'interviewed' by 5 different nurses. Just a warning if you are looking to rent a house or apt......there isn't much available.
Keep us posted on what your experiences are and good luck.
The interviews went great and I was offered a position!!!!!

I am thinking of moving there. I see a lot of positions for "rotating shifts" what does that mean? How do you like it there at the hospital? Any answers would be appreciated.

I recently started at the WMC as a graduate nurse in June and so far I really enjoy it. I moved from Michigan so it was a big change for me...but Casper is a really friendly city. I work on the Progressive Care Unit (majority of patients cardiac related) and would certainly suggest that floor. Shifts are self scheduled (at least on most of the units) and they're 12 hours from 6-6:30.
Thanks for the reply, keep us posted!
Anyone else have advice about Casper Wy? Any good facilities? Anyone work there at WMC.

Hi there, I live in Casper and work @ WMC. What kind of questions do you have?
Oh..thanks for answering! What dept. would you recommend? I'm interested in ICU, PCU or PACU. Can you give any suggestions? How do you like it? Thanks...
you're welcome. i don't work on any of those units, but from what i hear about icu and pcu it is all positive. i'm not sure if pacu is hiring right now and haven't really heard much from that area. i would say i have heard the most positive things from pcu people.
I went, and hated it.
