85 Questions

Published

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has or knows of someone taking the NCLEX-PN, computer shuts off at 85 questions and they fail?

I know all the reasoning behind pass/fail, I'm just curious.

Tomorrow I will know my results, today is dragging by.

Please don't move this question to the NCLEX forum. I'm not getting responses from that forum, only from staff.

Thanks,

Ruper

I don't know anyone that failed at 85 questions except once I read about a poster on this forum that failed at 85. I took an ATI course and my instructor told me that she has never had a student have 85 questions and fail. I had 85 questions was was scared I failed and I passed :)

I think with 85 questions the odds are in your favor.

Thank you jean for your reply. I really appreciate it.

Sad to say, I do know of someone that had the computer turn off at 85 and they failed....they had trouble answering questions right from the start. That is very rare...but it did happen.

I took the Nclex back in 2004 and got to the 85th question and wonder in my mind if it would keep going or shut off...it shut off the minute I hit the enter button...I too wonder if I failed but found out 48hours later that I had passed.

I haven't heard of anyone yet...that I know who has taken the NCLEX-PN reached 85 questions and failed..I know that you can pass at 85 or fail at 85 just as you can pass at 275 or fail at 275 or in between too.

Good Luck! Let us know how you did...as I'm sure that you did fine  to you in case I can't find this post again.

I know several that recently took the test and the computer shut off between 85 and 87 and they passed. I feel that you passed without a shadow of a doubt. can you recal any of the questions?

Thanks Seeks, I really can't recall the questions, it's weird, but my mind just draws a blank. I do know you should know your lab values, that's is a huge help always.

I should know how I did in about 12 hours.

Thanks again,

Ruper

The waiting is so rough..but I most def think you passed :) Will be waiting!

i passed !!!!!!

i was so nervous checking my results.

my daughter hadn't left for school yet so, she, my dad (he lives with us) and i were standing around the computer.

i don't know who was crying more me or my dad. i lost my mom almost 2 years ago and i wish more than anything she could have been standing here too. i know she has been watching over me.

thank you all who responded, it is amazing how much you helped.

now it's hitting the streets to find a job!!!!!!
