First off I am in my psych rotation and I am having the hardest time with this semester. This is diffentely not for me. My med surg and telemetry and critical care are were Im at but Im doing terrible in psych. I need some help relating to this class and study techniques because I am not getting it. I study study and its not clicking???
Second, I have a project to do by the end of the semester and it can be very broad but it has to relate to psych. My passion is in critical care and would like to do something with that but relates to psych. Although if anyone can help me with a ANY good topic related to anything let me know. I have to write a summary of the EVB article and do a side project in the end, like a guest speaker or powerpoint or a game, handouts etc......... Thank you

Hello,
I personally enjoyed my Psyche rotation very much. And if you prefer to do something along the lines of Critical Care, you can do Acute Overdose? Psyche patients will never go to a psyche unit until they are medically stable. So you will definitely see your psyche patients on med-surg and critical care floors. Your project could be about the Nursing care or Nursing interventions of the patient with psyche disorders.
thanks for the info, maybe like detox or something??? Well hopefully my rotation will get better. My teacher is great, its just the role of the nurse campared to the role a critical care or med surg nurse would do. I cant get a grasp on it like the other stuff, which I do so well in.

I work in psych as an aide. A lot of the ICU cases we go to sit on is because the patient or the family has forgotten ( or low balled) the amount of alcohol the patient normally consumes. Addiction is a psych issue.
