I've been contemplating a career change and have been reading these boards for a couple weeks now, but I still have a few questions about CRNA pay.
Fyi: Before the invariable "looking at CRNA and seeing dollar signs" lecture, I already have an advanced degree and am making a pretty high salary outside the healthcare industry. I just find my current job a little boring/unrewarding.
That said, let's get back to this pay issue. Do CRNA's generally have the opportunity to work overtime?
For example, take this job listing on gaswork.com:

w-2 salary is listed at $230k+. It also says they provide time and 1/2 pay for hours over 40. Does this mean there is generally an opportunity for overtime pay? If you could do, say, 16 hours ot each week, that would be 16 hours/week x 46 weeks x $150/hr (estimate) = $110,400 overtime pay? Could someone really make $340k+/year at a place like this?
If overtime is generally not available, is it possible to pick up additional part-time / locum tenens work?

I'd question the details of the ad you cited. What that may mean is that the average W2 last year was 230k but that included the overtime pay. It's hard to say about planning on overtime, sometimes it's not available. In other situations you do it even if you would rather not. The locums market is regional, in the midwest I get calls every week and I have no interest and have never worked locums. Some CRNAs I work with have regular locums work they do and they basically double their income. If you want to work all the time, you can usually find a way to do that. One thing I'll say for sure is a CRNA career isn't boring!

Are there any CRNA's here that work a lot of overtime that can chime in? If you're willing to work 60 hrs a week, what's the max you can make on a 1099 basis?
