questions on post registration in nursing in AUS

Published

Hi, I'm new in this thread. I'm an EN currently working here in SG. this year will be my 2nd yr and prior to this I'm a Reg nurse in the ph with 1 1/2 yr. I did my Ielts last yr planning to take the aged care but my plans changed after a few deliberations and I've decided totake bridging program unfortunately I've gained 6.5 in overall score. my question is, is there any opportunities for me if I'll take the post reg in nsg for 1 yr and then do the BN to become Div 1 nurse? because I'm still thinking if I'll retake my ielts to do the IRON program.. what are the requirements for post reg and bn?and will it really lead to Div 1 nurse? pls help me.. thanks!

It is not post graduate as you are not a Registered Nurse in Australia. Pity you are not RN in Singapore, would have got you out of the bridging program and I think IELTS as well. It still may get you out of it if you are practising as an EN - not sure better email AHPRA with your queries, you can register and an EN in Australia and apply for sponsorship.....until their positions are swamped as well.

If you have had no experience as an RN it will be difficult to compete against many others wanting the sponsorship visa...would be best to apply as EN....may still need IELTS at & though...query

thank you ceridwyn for shedding info about it. i had the idea for the post reg in one of the consultancies who kept me updated about the possible opportunities in oz.. so meaning even though i do have exp as rn in ph, it is still my current job which they will take into account for my application? thanks again for the advise regarding ahpra..
