I understand that there are many many more prereq's for the program than anywhere else. I'd like to know what GPA you need? Is there a wait list? I don't know anymore since they radically changed their nursing admissions recently. I saw an old thread from a long time ago, but it really didn't explain today's standards. It also costs a lot more, but it is near my house. What type of admissions test do they use? What can you get to study for it?
I'm interested in working in an area with children, maybe NICU or labor & delivery. I'm also potentially interested in nurse practitioner, but that should wait a while.

Hi! I was hoping to answer some of your questions. Madonna doesn't have many more pre-req's than other universities but their is only 5 semesters for you BSN where many are 3 year programs. There isn't a wait list its competitive entry but I think they do a short wait list for each semester in case someone doesnt want their spot. I did get accepted on my first try, thankfully! When I applied you took the TEAS but I believe now you take the ATI critical thinking test which I was surprised because its a pretty easy test. I really have been very happy with the program and Madonna seems to have a great reputation as I've come to find out at different hospitals. Also the student retention rate is very high and we've lost very very few students in my class. I also know the graduating class last spring passed 100% first try on the NCLEX so I think I made a very good choice. The money is al ot as any university is but its about the same price as Wayne State and just a but more than Oakland. Theres also a lot of scholarship options. I might sound like an advertisement but I was a student that looked at so many schools and took a chance by going there and I'm so glad. I wouldn't be graduating for years after I will now be graduating if I had stayed at Oakland.
What do you study for the ati critical thinking test? is there nothing to study? What score is passing? How many questions on the test? What gpa do you need to get into the program? Will you be able to get a job after finishing the program? What about the writing assessment? I took the test and my placement was 1 credit hour of writing review, what do you do in it? Should I take it a 2nd time?
is it alright to take some classes at Schoolcraft to transfer in? Schoolcraft says I just need anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and a computer class. The rest of the prerequisite classes is at Madonna.
I applied to Madonna twice now because I was going to attend, but didn't. I wonder if I need to apply again. I was accepted just wasn't sure what to do.
Which are the good teachers?
Any more input on this school please?
Let me know how I can help. You asked so many questions and I tried to answer some before but somehow I lost the post. Anyhow I would be glad to answer some simple questions if I can :)

Hello, I just submitted my letter of intent for the 2013 Winter semester and have to wait a month or so until I get the results of whether or not I was accepted. Talk about sitting on pins and needles for the next 30 days! :icon_roll Okay so here is my question...I have a 3.68 MU GPA, I have all of my prereq's completed, 14 credits taken at MU, I got an 82 on my Critical Thinking test, a decent letter of intent (or so I think) and I have probably around an average score for my "core" science classes that they tally up in addition to your regular GPA. Just out of curiousity, how does that compare to your stats when you were accepted on the first try? I am just trying to get some idea as to how my stats look compared to my competition in getting in on my first try. I am trying not to be too anxious about it but starting classes in Witner of 2013 versus the Fall of 2013 is a 7 month difference...and I would really like to have some kind of idea of where I stand so I can start planning ahead a little bit (Fall classes, my current job, LIFE etc.) Any advice you could give me would be very much appreciated! Thank you!
Sorry just noticed this! Well just fyi I got my acceptance letter on Aug 23 which was much earlier then I expected :) The year before tehy didn't send them until September. When I applied I had taken 21 credits there and my GPA was 3.77. I had taken the TEAS which was required then and I got a 85 or 86 on it, can't remember. I wrote a good letter, I think and I don't think they calculated "core" classes then either, if they did we didn't know. I know tehy look at grade trends which mine would have been good, I had straight A's except for one class I got a C+ in. I really want to say I love the program. I hope you get accepted!
Thank you for the info, hopefully I will be hearing good news soon! :)

How did the critical thinking test go? I'll be taking it soon and am looking for some prep/review materials.
