Question regarding CA CNA renewal

I need to renew my CNA certificate in CA by the beginning of September this year. I have not worked under the certificate, and therefore can't renew it.

I am wondering, if I get a position as a sitter in the hospital, will this count as fulfilling the hours for renewal? The positions normally say they prefer you to be CNA or EMT, but it's not required. But I have seen similar for PCA positions as well, and I feel like the duties for either positiion hould be fine to fufill it.

 

Any thoughts?
